Experimenting with the stars

I shot this image (once again using Live Composite) on my Olympus OMD EM5 Mark II camera. However, I used the m Zuiko 8mm fisheye lens. When I used lightroom to remove the fisheye effect the star trail got distorted and the result was an image where stars were trailing in a whole lot of…

Stok Kangri

Eastward the dawn rose, ridge behind ridge into the morning, and vanished out of eyesight into guess; it was no more than a glimmer blending with the hem of the sky, but it spoke to them, out of the memory and old tales, of the high and distant mountains. J R R Tolkien, The Fellowship…

Mountains

The mountains are calling and I must go. John Muir I must confess it’s painful to write this just after coming back from the mountains. The photograph shows the Stok range of mountains as viewed from Leh, Ladakh during sunrise.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Silence, Tingmosgang Monastery

This week’s photo challenge wants us to showcase an image that evokes a sentiment of silence. Tingmosgang Monastery is located in Ladakh in the Himalayas. It has been built on a hill that is nestled by tall mountains on all directions. The impression isn’t quite unlike the feeling you get when you’re watching the movie…

Weekend is almost here
