Those well versed in art will understand my reference to the Japanese Edo-period artist Hokusai and his renowned 36 views of Mt Fuji wood block prints. Even if you haven’t heard of Hokusai I’m sure you have come across the image below

If you’re a tourist in Japan, you will see the Great Wave produced on anything from bathing towels to umbrellas and handbags.

I’ve been reading a book on geology which has left me hankering to see volcanoes. So here’s my own tribute to Volcanoes, Hokusai and Fuji-san as Mt Fuji is affectionately called in Japan.
