Why waking up early is worth it …

…when you’re visiting Thiksey monastery in Ladakh.

Exactly five Saturdays ago I visited Thiksey monastery early in the morning. The morning prayers conducted by Buddhist monks and little monks in training is open to public every day and a number of tourists head there to get a glimpse into the lives of the monks who call the monastery their home.

But of course prayers aside, visiting early morning is also a perfect opportunity to view some breathtaking landscapes in sunrise. I have already posted a couple of photographs from my one and the ones I’m posting now are from my camera.

The snow covered peak in the photograph below is Stok Kangri- one of the more easily accessible ‘tall’ mountains in the entire Himalayan range.

Would you wake up early when you’re on holiday for a perfect sunrise?
