Crisscrossing Contrails and Danish royal names

I have seen jet contrails intersect before but never so perfectly in a cross. I took the opportunity to take a photograph with the statue of Victory in the foreground.

Frederik V of Denmark also seems quite stunned by the crisscrossing contrails 🙂 This statue is in the square just outside Amalienborg Palace which is the residence of the royal family.

Incidentally one of the other interesting facts that I got to learn was that since 1448 almost every ruling king of Denmark has either been named Christian or Frederik. The only exception was King Hans (1482-1513) and the current Queen Margrethe II who has been ruling since 1972 (Queen Margarete I ruled between 1387-1412). The King before her was her father King Frederik IX.

I imagine Danish school children have a tough time of keeping the Frederiks and Christians straight in their head.

I also made a post on contrails few months ago for skyway Friday but not a cross. This is difficult to find. Great capture

Thank you! I think this probably happens regularly over the skies of Copenhagen- I saw two cross contrails within 2 hours
