Sunrise in Hong Kong

I had the amazing opportunity of staying in an East facing room in Hong Kong at the Renaissance Harbour View hotel. Although the room did not give me a direct view of Victoria Harbour, the vista looking over the East particularly early in the morning was spectacular.

The first morning I was there was the best. The sky turned from a deep red to a more mellow orange and then faded away as the sun rose above the horizon.

I set my tripod inside my room and took a number of photographs. Here’s a few…

Just after 6am. The sky is a mix of deep blue and fiery red

A few minutes later- there is still a deep red over the horizon but the sky is lightening up

The deep orange is also now fading away as daylight is almost here

The lights on the road are almost gone. You can see the buildings now

All the street lights are off now. The sun is now ready to pop out!
