Decorative Motifs at the Topkapi Palace, Istanbul

Topkapi Palace in Istanbul used to be one of the most important palaces of the Ottoman rulers. It is a vast sprawling complex and you can easily spend a day looking through the various parts of the palace.

    The designs are so beautiful, may I know are they Turkish traditional decoration for palace? Thanks sharing.

      I’m not sure if they’re traditionally Turkish but some of the tiles, mosaics and themes are quite representative of contemporary Islamic art.

        I found some of these designs are quite similar to the Islamic art adapted in our mosques here. Very unique and beautiful.

    Topkapi, the name reminds me of an old movie from half a century ago.
