The small rocky islet that you see in the photograph has apparently held a tower of some sort on it since ancient times. The latest one was erected in the 18th century but reinforced many times. The tower now hosts a cafe and a restaurant but note in the evening the private boats take you to the island only if you have a reservation. If you don’t it’s pleasurable enough to enjoy a cup of apple tea of turkish coffee on the Uskudar coast watching the sun set over one of the grandest cities of the world!

      Exactly, that islet has been around for millenia, I wonder how much of history it has witnessed. What stories we would hear if stone could talk!
