Weekly Photo Challenge: Doors of Cambodia

This week’s photo challenge asks us to make a post about doors

I had recently written a post about the colourful doors and gates of the colonial part of Pondichery. However that was a combination of doors and gates.

So for this challenge I decided to post doors from ancient Cambodian temples.

        You are very welcome!

  2. What wonderful photos you have shared. Love the photo of the roots of the fig tree around the door. It is amazing that we build great things only to destroy them but nature returns and brings things back into equilibrium. The Temple at sunrise if glowing – very nice.

Thank you, indeed nature has an amazing way of reclaiming what is hers. If humans were to abandon cities, trees and plants would reclaim the space in no time. The temple was made out of red sandstone which added an additional glow.

I LOVE doors. I take pictures of them everywhere!! Love your pictures of the doors above. I just told my husband as he walked through the living room, “We need to go to Cambodia!”

Yes! Cambodia is beautiful. It is other worldly and ethereal. It is also easy to navigate and you can spend as many days as you want at Siem Reap. I’ve not been to Phnom Penh though.
