I initially mistook this butterfly for the Common Crow that we keep seeing everywhere. However I later learnt that this was actually a Malabar Raven- a species that mimics the Common Crow because the latter is inedible to predators. The Malabar Raven is edible to its predators. There are a few small differences which I learnt later- notably the legs (MR has 3 long legs whereas CC has two short ones).
