The road is hard to see beneath the sand. It looks as if there are tyre marks all over the place anyway. Are there?

    1. Sukanya Ramanujan says:

Sanetes- there was actually no road beneath the sand- so most vehicles followed the path left by the other vehicles whereas some vehicles just chose to make their own road. I guess the BRO folks didn’t build an actual road there because the sand is not too deep so there is no risk of the tyres getting caught.

Aha! I never thought of that.

Love the depth of the shot, and the contrast of sky and earth – I really should visit Ladakh sometime!

    1. Sukanya Ramanujan says:

You should David, its just an hours flight from Delhi (though you would have to rest a day or two to acclimatise yourself to the thin air) but it is completely worth it.
