Camouflage

I don’t know if camouflage is a good term to use when describing buildings that so merge into their foundations and surroundings that it is hard to spot them. But looking at this picture, no other term comes into mind either. We see Leh Palace in the foreground of the picture just looking like an innocent extension of the hill from which it projects. I guess it would have been more ornately decorated with flags and other objects in its heyday but it is almost possible to miss this structure when glancing quickly through the landscape.

    Very true. Hidden indeed!!!

With a glorious past, now all voices quieted, colours muted, asleep for a thousand years.. Very evocative!!
