Moonrise Over Leh

On the first evening of our stay at Leh, we spent the time around sunset at Shanti Stupa- the buddhist temple established by Japanese Buddhists. Situated atop a hill it provides spectacular views of the town of Leh, the Leh palace and Tsemo fort (situated on hills themselves) and the mountain ranges around. One of the nicer pictures I managed to capture over the hour I spent at the Stupa was this image of the moon hanging over the town. The sun was still fairly high in the sky and the town was therefore bathed in a bright yellow glare.

the yellow and the blue are by themselves alluring, but that pale white disk adds romance to the picture!! This one could be a cover for Song for Arbonne!! 🙂

Except there’d have to be another moon 🙂

That yellow glow is difficult to capture. Nice picture. Moon looks strange on yellow evening sky.
