Rock n Roll

Every trip has a star image- one picture that stands out above all others- a special image that is not only near-perfect technically but also speaks volumes about the trip itself.

My star image from my trip to Kanha was that of an Indian Roller. It took a while for us to get this perfect image- with the bird sitting at different positions and finally perching itself in this perfect angle for a few seconds before flying off. The thrill of photography is when you are able to capture the image at this moment of perfection. What made it better was the bird itself- fully resplendent in summer colours…representative of the colours and the images of Kanha itself.

So there you go my… perfect Indian Roller

      It was luck and patience

there is no luck involved with birds. It is only patience – for the perfect shot when the bird finally is ready…
